Alpha® Filter/Regulator 3- & 4-Port Manifold System

The Alpha® Filter/Regulator Manifold System protects pneumatic polishers, grinders and stone cutters from rust, moisture and contamination carried through shop air piping — the leading cause of premature wear in air-powered stone fabrication tools. Choose the 3/8" 3-Port (53 CFM) system to feed up to three tools, or step up to the 1/2" 4-Port (106 CFM) system for high-volume shops running multiple high-CFM tools at once, in either NPT or G (BSPP) thread.

  1. Mount the F/R manifold close to the point of use, downstream of any main shop dryer or in-line filter.
  2. Adjust shop compressor output to 145 PSI or lower — the Alpha® F/R has a 145 PSI max pressure rating.
  3. Connect the manifold to existing shop piping using the supplied inlet thread (NPT for North American shops, G/BSPP for export markets).
  4. Plug tools into the aluminum quick disconnects; use the integrated shut-off / dump valve to depressurize before disconnecting hoses.
  5. Lubricate tools manually at end of each workday with Alpha® Rust Inhibitor Oil (AIR-008) — do not use an automatic in-line oiler.
  6. Service the 5-micron filter element periodically; replace when airflow drops or oil carryover is observed.

Must I use the 3-port Relief Valve if a ball valve is already installed on my line?

No. You can order just the Filter/Regulator Kit with adapter blocks and T-clamps, or build a custom assembly from individual manifold parts.

Will the system run on a 165 PSI compressor?

Not directly — the Alpha® Filter/Regulator is rated to a 145 PSI maximum. Set your compressor output to 145 PSI or lower before connecting.

How do I connect the manifold if shop piping is mounted close to the wall?

Alpha® offers 1/2" NPT Swivel Fitting Adapter Hoses in 1 ft., 2 ft. and 3 ft. lengths, plus 15–40 ft. mobile manifold hoses so the F/R can be repositioned closer to the point of use.

Where do I get replacement 5-micron filter elements?

Contact your authorized Alpha dealer, call Alpha at 800-648-7229 ext. 240, or order through DST.

Should I add an automatic in-line oiler for tool lubrication?

No. Alpha® does not recommend automatic oilers — oil buildup at the exhaust can stain work surfaces and congeal in cold tools, locking the mechanism. Lubricate manually with Alpha® Rust Inhibitor Oil (AIR-008) at end of each workday.

What happens if compressor oil reaches the filter?

Compressor oil will clog the 5-micron filter element. Service the compressor to eliminate the carryover and replace the filter element.

What is the difference between the NPT and G thread variants?

NPT (1040-1000, 1040-1001) is the North American tapered pipe thread standard. G (1040-1002, 1040-1003) is the BSPP parallel thread used in most export markets. Confirm your shop piping standard before ordering.
