Akemi AKENOVA CLEAR 300 — Crystal-Clear Paintable Adhesive Sealant

AKENOVA® CLEAR 300 is a stress-compensating, crystal-clear one-component adhesive sealant based on AKEMI’s polyhybrid technology, curing with atmospheric humidity. Its highly elastic joint absorbs tension between dissimilar materials, and because it is free of plasticizers and solvents it will not bleed at the margins on natural stone. Transparent, paintable, VOC-, silicone- and isocyanate-free, it is the go-to choice for bonding and sealing undermount sinks, splashbacks and stone-to-glass or stone-to-metal joints — indoors or out, on vertical or horizontal work.

  • Crystal-clear & paintable — transparent joints that can be over-painted, on any color substrate
  • Stress-compensating — highly elastic bond absorbs movement between dissimilar materials
  • No edge bleeding — free of plasticizers and solvents, so no marginal staining on natural stone
  • VOC-, silicone- & isocyanate-free — almost odorless, emission class A+ (EMICODE® EC1PLUS)
  • Weatherproof — UV-, humidity- and weather-resistant; heat-stable from -13°F to 176°F

  • Very high bonding strength with a highly elastic joint for high tension compensation
  • Crystal-clear bondings — the transparent color works on substrates of any color
  • No bleeding in the marginal zone on natural stone (free of plasticizers and solvents)
  • Paintable, with good workability and smoothability; almost no odor
  • VOC-free, silicone- and isocyanate-free; emission class A+
  • Resistant to UV, humidity and weathering — suitable indoors and outdoors, vertical and horizontal
  • Temperature resistant from -13°F to 176°F (-25°C to +80°C)

For stress-compensating, non-polishable bonding and sealing of:

  • Natural and artificial stone — granite, quartzite, sandstone, terrazzo and the like
  • Bonded to mineral, certain metallic or wooden surfaces
  • Sinks, splashbacks, table and window sills, flooring, facades and walls
  • Excellent adhesion on silicate surfaces (granite, concrete, glass) after hardening

Note on primers: for non-silicate surfaces and for bondings exposed to moisture, an AKEMI® primer is required (see the manufacturer’s primer table). Little or no adhesion on plasticized plastics, PE, PP or PTFE — test first.

  1. Contact surfaces must be clean, free of grease and dust. Use AKEMI® Cleaner A for stone, tiles, ceramics, glass, unpainted wood and metal; use AKEMI® Cleaner for plastics and painted surfaces.
  2. Work between 41–95°F (5–35°C).
  3. On larger surfaces, apply the adhesive in parallel beads of the required thickness, spaced so no continuous layer forms after joining (a continuous layer greatly delays hardening).
  4. Bond the parts within about 10 minutes; smooth joints with AKEMI® Smoothing Agent, leaving none on the joint.
  5. Skin forms in 10–15 minutes; hardening is roughly 2 mm on the first day. When bonding thin joints or vapor-tight materials (metal, ceramics, glass), lightly moisten the surfaces just before bonding to avoid greatly delayed core curing.
  6. Clean tools with AKEMI® Cleaner A or I before the product cures.
  • For professional use only; use professional equipment with a high gear ratio for application.
  • Before application, confirm compatibility with the materials to be bonded (including materials exposed to the reaction vapors) so no discoloration or damage occurs.
  • Exposure to temperatures above 176°F (80°C) may discolor the bond surface.
  • Hardened sealant can only be removed mechanically; uncured sealant can be removed with AKEMI® Cleaner A or I.
  • Industrial chemical product — use only in well-ventilated areas and wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection. Always consult the AKEMI Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
