Alpha® Ecoguard D — Dust Collection Cover for Hammer-Drill Bits
The Alpha® Ecoguard Type D is a clear, lightweight dust-collection shroud that snaps over the chuck of most popular hammer drills and rotary drills. It captures concrete, stone and masonry dust at the bit — keeping it off the floor and out of the operator’s face during overhead and wall drilling. Choose the Short (DS) for bits up to 6" with a built-in depth gauge, or the Long (DL) for bits 6" and longer where the depth gauge is omitted to clear deeper anchor work.

- Select DS for bits up to 6" (with depth gauge) or DL for bits 6" and longer.
- Slide the Ecoguard D collar onto the drill chuck collar; the supplied insert ensures a snug fit on standard chuck sizes.
- Mount the bit through the cover’s center port.
- Position the cover lip flat against the wall or ceiling at the drill location.
- For DS, set the integrated depth gauge to the required anchor depth.
- Drill normally — the chamber catches dust at the bit; tip the debris out between holes or runs.
- For overhead use, empty the chamber frequently to maintain capture performance.
- Optional: pair with the ECOVAKIT vacuum adapter for continuous dust extraction.

What is the difference between the DL (Long) and DS (Short) models?
The DS (Short) fits drill bits up to 6" and includes a built-in depth gauge for anchor-setting accuracy. The DL (Long) accommodates bits 6" and longer; the depth gauge is omitted to allow the bit to travel deeper, which suits through-wall and structural work.
Will the Ecoguard D fit my drill?
It fits most popular hammer drills and rotary drills — including Makita® BHR202Z, Bosch® RHH180, DeWalt® DCH253, Milwaukee® 2605-20 and Hilti® TE4-A18. The cover ships with an adapter collar to fit standard chuck collars.
Can I still use my drill’s original side handle?
Most original handles will not refit because the collar diameter changes with the Ecoguard D installed. Alpha offers an optional universal side handle (Part No. 803172) sized for the Ecoguard.
Are spare parts available?
No. Due to the low price point, spare parts are not stocked — replace the cover when worn.
Can I use it on materials other than concrete?
Yes. It works well on drywall, wood and composites in addition to its primary concrete/masonry use case.
Is it safe for steel drilling?
Possible but not recommended — hot metal debris can damage the cover.
Can I connect a vacuum to the Ecoguard D?
Yes — pair it with the ECOVAKIT vacuum adapter kit to connect to a standard wet/dry vacuum hose for continuous dust extraction.
