Alpha® Summit Final Polish Wheel — 10" for Radial Arm Polishers
The Alpha® Summit Final Polish wheel is the final-step buff wheel in the Summit Polishing System for flat-surface granite fabrication. Engineered for radial-arm polishers used in slab and monument shops, the wheel uses tin oxide as the primary polishing component in a heat-compressed form — the alloy generally recognized as the best available for granite. Run with a small amount of water for lubrication, the Summit Final Polish delivers the high gloss and deep reflection traditionally produced only by large automatic polishing machines. The wheel is offered in two factory color formulations: BLACK for dark granites and WHITE for light granites — matching the granite color keeps the final finish optically clean.
Features
- Final-polish stage of the Alpha Summit Polishing System for granite
- Designed for radial-arm polishers used on flat granite surfaces
- Tin-oxide based, heat-compressed formulation — the recognized standard for granite gloss
- Delivers automatic-line gloss quality with manual radial-arm tooling
- BLACK formulation for dark granites; WHITE formulation for light granites
- 10" diameter — matches Alpha Summit Resin Bond and Metal Bond wheels in the same system
- Uses minimal water for lubrication — ideal for shop production environments
| Part No. | Size | Color | Granite Type | Grit | UPC |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| S10BLACK | 10" | Black | Granite | Buff | 749173470783 |
| S10WHITE | 10" | White | Granite | Buff | 749173470790 |
- Complete the Summit Metal Bond and Summit Resin Bond polishing sequence on the granite slab before mounting the Final Polish wheel.
- Match the wheel color to the granite color — S10BLACK for dark granites, S10WHITE for light granites.
- Mount the 10" wheel on the radial-arm polisher per the machine manufacturer's instructions.
- Introduce a small steady flow of water for lubrication — the Final Polish step is not a high-volume water operation.
- Run the wheel across the slab using even, overlapping passes; let the tin-oxide compound build the gloss.
- Inspect the finish under reflected light and continue passes until the desired gloss and reflection are achieved.
- Wipe the slab clean and dry to reveal the final gloss level.
- Store the wheel dry between shifts to preserve the heat-compressed face.

What is the Summit Final Polish wheel used for?
It is the final-step buff wheel in the Alpha Summit Polishing System — used on a radial-arm polisher to bring the granite surface up to a high-gloss, reflective finish.
Why are there two colors?
The BLACK formulation (S10BLACK) is tuned for dark granites; the WHITE formulation (S10WHITE) is tuned for light granites. Matching the color to the slab keeps the finished surface optically clean — without any contrasting residue trapped in the surface.
Do I have to use water with this wheel?
Yes, but only a small flow. The Final Polish step uses water for lubrication, not for cooling like the earlier metal/resin bond steps.
Can I use this on marble or engineered stone?
The Summit Final Polish system is engineered for granite. For marble or engineered stone, use the appropriate Alpha pad system (e.g. the Quartz Resurfacing System for engineered stone).
What polishing steps come before the Final Polish?
A typical Summit sequence runs Metal Bond wheels first for stock removal, then Resin Bond wheels for the intermediate finish, then the Summit Final Polish to bring up the gloss.
What machine do I need?
A radial-arm polisher, as used in slab fabrication shops and monument producers. The 10" wheel size aligns with the Summit Metal Bond and Resin Bond wheels in the same system.
