Alpha® CNC Core Bits for Porcelain & Sintered Slabs

Alpha® CNC Core Bits are wet core drill bits engineered for CNC machines and radial-arm workstations cutting porcelain slabs, sintered surfaces such as Dekton® and Neolith®, crystallized glass and other vitreous materials. The 1/2" gas thread fits standard CNC tool holders, and the diamonds and matrix are selected to minimize blow-out at the bottom of the stone — critical because most CNC fabrication is done upside-down. The same Vacuum-Brazed diamond technology that made Alpha® Wet and Dry Core Bits the industry standard is built into every CNC bit.

Features

  • Wet core drilling for CNC machines and radial-arm workstations
  • Optimized diamond matrix minimizes bottom-side blow-out on upside-down CNC fabrication
  • 1/2" gas thread — fits standard CNC tool holders
  • Designed for porcelain, sintered slabs, Dekton®, Neolith® and crystallized glass
  • Long bit life from premium diamond and matrix selection
  • Clean-walled holes for downstream polishing and assembly
Part No. Diameter Thread Max RPM UPC
DND01250 1-1/4" 1/2" Gas 4,000 RPM 749173461712
DND01375 1-3/8" 1/2" Gas 4,000 RPM 749173461729
  1. Thread the CNC Core Bit onto a 1/2" gas-thread tool holder, fully seated.
  2. Set the CNC spindle to 4,000 RPM — do not exceed.
  3. Use a traverse speed of approximately 1-1/4" (30mm)/min when entering 3/4"-thick material.
  4. Reduce traverse to 5/8" (15mm)/min as the bit exits the bottom of the slab to prevent blow-out.
  5. Run with continuous, generous water flow through the tool holder for cooling and slurry removal.
  6. Keep the slab firmly clamped and supported under the cut area — CNC fabrication is typically performed upside-down.
  7. Inspect the bit between holes and clear any matrix loading; dress with a dressing stick if cutting slows.

What materials are these CNC Core Bits designed for?

Porcelain slabs, sintered slabs (Dekton®, Neolith®), crystallized glass and other vitreous materials.

What thread do they use?

1/2" gas thread, the standard fitment for CNC stone tool holders.

What is the maximum RPM?

4,000 RPM. Do not exceed.

Why is bottom-side blow-out a concern?

Most CNC fabrication of porcelain and sintered slabs is performed upside-down, so the bit exits through the visible face. The Alpha® matrix is engineered to keep that exit clean.

Can these be used dry?

No. CNC Core Bits require continuous water through the tool holder for cooling, slurry removal and bit life.

What traverse speeds should I use?

Approximately 1-1/4" (30mm)/min while cutting through 3/4" stock, reducing to 5/8" (15mm)/min as the bit exits to prevent blow-out.
