Alpha® COTE-04 Pneumatic Extended Cut-Off Tool
The Alpha® COTE-04 is a 14-3/4"-long pneumatic cut-off tool built to reach into tight, awkward and confined areas where standard cut-off tools cannot go. The newly designed low-profile gear head includes a built-in spindle lock for fast wheel changes, and the push-to-adjust swivel safety guard articulates through 11 positions over a 126° range to direct sparks and debris away from the operator. A 1.0 HP (0.7 kW) motor drives a 4" (100mm) abrasive cut-off wheel at 14,000 RPM, with rear exhaust and a built-in cushion grip for all-day comfort. Ships standard with a general-purpose aluminum-oxide abrasive cut-off wheel.

- Connect a clean, dry, lubricated compressed-air supply to the 1/4" NPT inlet (3/8" ID hose).
- Set regulated air pressure to 90 PSI (6.2 bar) at the tool inlet.
- Mount a 4" (100mm) cut-off wheel with a 3/8" (10mm) arbor — engage the spindle lock, tighten the lock nut, release the lock.
- Adjust the swivel safety guard to one of the 11 positions so sparks and debris are directed away from the operator.
- Wear ANSI-rated eye protection, hearing protection and cut-resistant gloves.
- Bring the wheel up to full speed before contacting the workpiece; let the wheel cut — do not force it.
- Use straight, light passes; never side-load or twist the wheel.
- Add a few drops of pneumatic tool oil at the air inlet at the end of each shift to lubricate the motor.
- Note: the COTE-04 cannot perform flush cutting — the flange and lock-nut design prevents it.

What size compressor do I need for the COTE-04?
A 3 HP or larger compressor commonly found in home garages is sufficient. The tool consumes 4 CFM at 90 PSI.
Can the COTE-04 perform flush cutting?
No. The flange and lock-nut design prevents flush cutting.
Does it ship with an Ultracut ABM blade?
No. It includes a standard aluminum-oxide abrasive cut-off wheel for metal. Ultracut ABM wheels are available separately.
Is a dust shroud available for the COTE-04?
No dust shroud is currently available for this tool.
Can I use it on the jobsite?
Yes — anywhere with a compressed-air supply rated for 4 CFM at 90 PSI.
