What materials is the Silencer III for Marble designed to cut?
It is engineered specifically for general-purpose marble. Cutting granite or other abrasive stone with this blade sacrifices blade life and cutting performance — use the appropriate Silencer III variant for those materials.
What sizes are available?
The Silencer III for Marble is available in 16" (SLW16S2M) and 18" (SLW18S2M) diameters.
What arbor does it use?
The blade is equipped with a 60mm arbor and ships with a 50mm adapter for common bridge saw spindles.
Can the Silencer III be used dry?
No. Wet cutting diamond blades must be used with continuous water to prevent excessive heat buildup that damages segments and the core. Always supply water to both sides of the blade.
What makes the Silencer III quieter than other blades?
The core is laminated from two hardened steel sheets with a thin copper sheet between them. The copper layer absorbs sound waves rather than reflecting them, which significantly reduces operating noise compared with solid-steel-core blades.
What is the maximum operating RPM?
Match the saw speed to the blade size: SLW16S2M is rated 3,820 RPM max; SLW18S2M is rated 3,395 RPM max. Never exceed the blade rating.
Does Alpha re-tip worn blades?
Yes. Alpha® offers free re-tipping service for the life of the blade. When segments wear down, return the blade for re-tipping rather than discarding it.
