The Alpha® Twincur™ GEM combines the proven Twincur EG and ES edge-polishing systems into a single snail-lock wheel that handles every common slab material — granite, marble, engineered stone/quartz and sintered surfaces — both straight and beveled edges. One wheel set replaces the two-system inventory many shops keep on hand, saving time, money and storage space. A “Tsuya” final-polish wheel is available to bring edges to the highest possible shine. - Mount the GEM wheel directly on any edge-polishing machine with a Snail-Lock (SFAT) spindle. For 5/8"-11 spindles, use the Alpha SFAT-5/8 adapter.
- Verify machine no-load RPM does not exceed 2,000 RPM — the maximum operating speed for Twincur GEM.
- Run wet only. Feed clean water at the wheel face throughout the polish.
- Progress through grits in order: #50 → #100 → #200 → #500 → #1000 → #2000 → #3000 → Tsuya. Skipping grits leaves visible scratch patterns.
- Use light, even pressure — let the wheel do the work. Excess pressure shortens wheel life and dulls the polish.
- Use the 31mm Twincur wrench (Alpha part 520000) to install or remove wheels.
- Rinse and inspect each wheel between grits; replace when the diamond layer is worn flush with the resin matrix.

Can I use Twincur GEM on both granite and engineered stone?
Yes. The GEM is engineered as a single polishing system for all stone types — granite, marble, engineered stone/quartz and sintered slabs. It replaces the separate EG (granite) and ES (engineered stone) lines.
What grits should I run in sequence?
Progress in order: #50, #100, #200, #500, #1000, #2000, #3000, then Tsuya for final polish. Skipping grits leaves scratch patterns that will not lift in the next step.
Wet or dry?
Wet only. Feed water at the wheel face during the entire polish — this clears swarf, cools the bond and protects wheel life.
What is the Tsuya wheel?
Tsuya (Japanese for “gloss”) is the final-polish wheel in the GEM line. It is run after #3000 to bring the edge to the highest possible shine on all stone types.
