Alpha® Hot-Rod™ Granite Bridge Saw Blade – 10" with 1/4" Rod
Alpha® developed the Hot-Rod™ blade as a revolutionary way to improve channel-cutting efficiency for countertop fabricators. This 10" diameter variant (Part No. HR10A+) is engineered for use on larger bridge saws where extra reach and leverage are required to score and cut 1/4"-deep channels for standard rodding on granite countertops and sink/cooktop cutouts.
Features
- Designed for channel cutting on granite with bridge saws (10" diameter format)
- Cuts 1/4"-deep channels to accept standard 1/4" reinforcing rods
- Fabricator’s choice for rodding granite at sink and cooktop cutouts
- Diamond grit + matrix matched to all granite categories, including hard red granites
- Use wet or dry — wet cutting extends blade life and suppresses silica dust
- Also suitable for scoring non-skid grooves on granite steps and surfaces
| Part No. | Diameter | Channel Width | Use | Material | UPC |

| HR10A+ | 10" (254 mm) | 1/4" (6.35 mm) | 1/4" Rod | Granite | 749173472770 |
- Mount blade on a compatible bridge saw spindle observing arbor direction.
- Set cut depth to 1/4" (6.35 mm) for standard rod channels.
- Cut wet whenever possible to extend blade life and control silica dust.
- Use steady feed pressure — let the diamond matrix do the work.
- Inspect the peripheral edge as the blade wears; make a second light pass near end-of-life to maintain channel depth.
- Use ONLY on granite. Do not substitute for the marble or porcelain Hot-Rod variants.

On what materials can Alpha® Hot-Rod™ blades be used?
Hot-Rod is offered in granite, marble, and porcelain versions. Each must be used only on its designated material. HR10A+ is the granite variant.
Will the Hot-Rod for Granite work on all granites?
Yes. The diamond grit and matrix are formulated for all categories of granite, including hard red granites.
Which thicknesses are offered for granite Hot-Rod blades?
Three thicknesses across the line: 1/4" for standard rods, 1/8" for thinner rods, and 3/8" for threaded rods. HR10A+ is the 1/4" standard-rod thickness.
Can Hot-Rod blades be used wet?
Yes. Wet cutting generally increases blade life and helps keep harmful silica dust out of the air.
Can I use a Hot-Rod blade on an angle grinder?
No. Hot-Rod blades are designed for compatible Alpha® saws/cutters and, in the 10" size, for bridge saws — never an angle grinder.
Why does the peripheral edge round as the blade wears?
Rounding is normal. Adjust cut depth slightly to compensate; near end-of-life a light second pass may be needed to restore full channel depth.
Are there other uses for Hot-Rod blades?
Yes — any application that calls for scoring the surface of granite, for example creating non-skid grooves in granite steps.
