Alpha® Contour Blade for Porcelain/Sintered Slabs

The Alpha® Contour Blade for Porcelain is purpose-built for hand curve cutting on porcelain, crystallized glass, and sintered slabs — the cleanest way to cut sink openings and radiuses on 3 cm materials without chipping. Direct sintered diamond segments on a steel core prevent undercutting, and side protection segments grind a wider kerf so the blade pulls tight curves safely. Fits standard 5" wet stone cutters and angle grinders; these materials must be cut wet.

Features

  • Designed specifically for porcelain, sintered slabs and crystallized glass
  • Fits on 5" wet & dry stone cutters and standard angle grinders
  • Cuts curves cleanly, accurately and safely with a wider kerf for tighter radiuses
  • Direct sintered diamond segments on steel core prevent undercutting
  • Plunge cut with excellent control when mounted on the Alpha AWS-125
  • Use wet (required for porcelain and sintered slabs) for best life and chip-free cuts
Part No. Diameter Arbor Max RPM UPC

CCP045 4-1/2" 7/8" 13,200 749173461965

  1. Mount the blade on a 5" wet stone cutter (AWS-125 recommended) or an angle grinder using the 7/8" arbor.
  2. Run wet at all times — porcelain and sintered slabs require a steady water feed to cut chip-free.
  3. Stay between 9,000 RPM (minimum) and the Max RPM listed for the size in use.
  4. Plunge slowly through the front edge, then walk the cut along the radius using the side protection segments.
  5. Pick the diameter for your slab: 4" / 4-1/2" for thinner work; 5" for full 1-1/4" (3 cm) slab cut-outs.

Can I use the Contour for Porcelain on granite or marble?

No — this blade is intended only for porcelain, sintered slabs, and crystallized glass. Cutting granite or marble with it will be slow and reduce blade life. Use the Contour for Granite or Contour for Marble instead.

What sizes are available?

4", 4-1/2", and 5" diameters, all with a 7/8" arbor.

Wet or dry?

Porcelain and sintered slabs must be cut wet. Wet cutting is also safer (controls silica dust) and significantly extends blade life.

What do the side protection segments do?

They help cut curved areas cleanly and grind a wider kerf so the blade can pull tighter radiuses without binding or undercutting.

What is the maximum RPM?

12,200 RPM maximum on the 5", with a minimum of 9,000 RPM for any size. Smaller diameters have higher Max RPM — see the Models table.

Can I plunge cut with the AWS-125?

Yes — mounted on the AWS-125 you can plunge cut with excellent control. Plunge slowly through the front edge of the blade with the water feed running.
