Alpha® COTR-03 Pneumatic Reversible Cut-Off Tool
The Alpha® COTR-03 is a compact 8-1/16" pneumatic cut-off tool with a special reversible hub: a single collar reverses the cutting wheel between left- and right-hand rotation so the operator can always direct sparks and debris away from the body. A 0.85 HP (0.63 kW) motor spins a 3" (75mm) abrasive wheel at 20,000 RPM, with rear exhaust and a safety throttle lever. The tool ships with an Alpha® Ultracut ABM 3" blade (ABM0338), a 14–19 mm double-ended spanner and a 4 mm hex key for wheel changes — ready to work straight out of the case.

- Connect a clean, dry, lubricated compressed-air supply to the 1/4" NPT inlet (3/8" ID hose).
- Regulate air pressure to 90 PSI (6.2 bar) at the tool inlet.
- Rotate the directional collar to select left- or right-hand wheel rotation so sparks travel away from your body.
- Mount a 3" (75mm) cut-off wheel with a 3/8" (10mm) arbor using the included spanner and hex key.
- Wear ANSI-rated eye and hearing protection and cut-resistant gloves.
- Bring the wheel to full speed before contacting the workpiece; let the wheel cut — do not side-load or twist.
- For directional changes during a job, stop the tool, switch the collar, then restart.
- Add a few drops of pneumatic tool oil at the air inlet daily (end of shift) to lubricate the motor.
- Note: the COTR-03 is not designed for flush cutting due to its direct-drive geometry.

What size compressor does the COTR-03 need?
