Alpha® CNC Finger Bit for Dekton® — D20 x L40 (1/2" Gas Thread)
The Alpha® CNC Finger Bit FBD040 is a 40 mm-long, 20 mm-diameter segmented finger bit engineered for CNC machines and radial-arm workstations cutting Dekton®, Neolith®, porcelain & sintered slabs, crystallized glass and other vitreous materials. The 1/2" gas thread fits standard CNC tool holders, and the diamond & matrix segment is formulated to minimize blow-out on hard, brittle surfaces.
Features
- Segmented diamond head designed for Dekton®, Neolith®, porcelain and crystallized glass
- Compatible with CNC routers and radial-arm workstations
- 40 mm cutting length for thicker slabs (companion FBD030 covers shorter cuts)
- 20 mm diameter, 1/2" Gas Thread for universal CNC holders
- Optimized matrix minimizes blow-out on the exit face

- Mount FBD040 in a 1/2" gas-thread CNC tool holder; verify thread is fully seated.
- Run a constant, copious water feed directly to the cutting interface.
- Set spindle to 6,000 RPM (maximum).
- Traverse at 10" (250 mm)/min on 3/4" (2 cm) Dekton or sintered slab.
- Slow exit traverse to 5" (125 mm)/min during the final 10 mm to minimize blow-out.
- Inspect segment wear after each slab; dress as needed.

Can FBD040 be used dry?
No. A continuous, copious water feed is required to cool the diamond segment and remove debris. Running dry will glaze the segment and destroy the tool.
What is the difference between FBD030 and FBD040?
They share the same 20 mm diameter, 1/2" gas thread and 6,000 RPM rating. FBD030 has a 30 mm cutting length, FBD040 has a 40 mm cutting length for thicker materials.
What thread does this bit use?
1/2" Gas Thread, which fits standard CNC and radial-arm tool holders.
