MB Stone Care MB-40 Quartz Polishing Cream
MB-40 Quartz Polish is a professional-grade polishing cream formulated to restore and enhance the high-gloss finish of engineered quartz. Stone fabricators use it to lift factory finishes and to remove surface haze and light wear, and it can also be worked on granite, ophicalcite and serpentine. It is applied with a variable-speed polishing machine using a hogs hair or white polishing pad, in small sections of 2 to 4 square feet so the product does not dry out unevenly. The finish it produces is a maintained natural finish rather than a coating.

- Mask off and protect any surface that could be splattered by the product, and wear safety glasses and gloves.
- Make sure the surface is free of coatings, waxes, sealers, grease and soil. If the surface needs honing, hone with quality diamonds to at least 3000 grit or higher; the higher the finish before polishing, the better the product works.
- The cream may arrive looking watery. This is normal. Adding a small amount of water to the product is recommended for both countertop and floor work.
- Countertops: use a 7 inch variable-speed polisher with a 5 or 7 inch pad driver and a white polishing pad, set to 600 RPM (setting 1 on most machines).
- Countertops: target a two square-foot area. Place 1 teaspoon of product in the center, position the machine and pad on top of it, then spread the product slowly under pressure to dry it out.
- Countertops: as the product starts to dry, increase to approximately 1200 RPM (setting 3 on most machines) and reduce pressure until there is no splatter, then run at maximum speed, moving the machine swiftly to run the product dry.
- Check the results and repeat if needed. Swirls or marks mean too much product was used; remove them with a white pad and a mist of water, or by hand with Easy Scrub and a soft cloth, then reduce the amount used. Each application needs slightly less product than the last.
- Floors: target 8 to 10 square feet, place 2 tablespoons of product in the center and mist with water to form a semi-thick slurry that will not splatter.
- Floors: set a floor machine with a hogs hair pad on the product and spread it across the area, working until the slurry dries and the quartz becomes shiny. Reload, flip or change the pad roughly every 200 square feet.
- Floors: use a machine over 1.5 HP weighing 135 lb (61 kg). A lighter machine can bog down and trip the electrical breaker once the product dries and begins to polish.

Which surfaces is MB-40 made for?

My product arrived watery instead of creamy. Is it defective?
No. The product should be a cream or paste but may arrive looking watery, and nothing is wrong with it. Adding a small amount of water is recommended for both countertop and floor work.
Which pad and machine should I use?
