Akemi Impregnation Remover — Alkaline Gel Stripper

AKEMI® Impregnation Remover is a concentrated, highly alkaline cleaning gel based on inorganic bases with non-ionic surfactants. It is designed to strip away the color intensifications left behind by impregnations and sealers, as well as heavy soiling such as lacquer residue, from natural stone, concrete ashlar, ceramics, bricks and clinker. Its gel-like consistency lets it cling to vertical work — facades and wall coverings — while also being ideal for floor covers, so old or uneven treatments can be reset before re-impregnating.

  • Removes impregnation color intensifiers — strips old, uneven or unwanted sealer effects
  • Gel-like consistency — stays put on vertical facades and wall coverings
  • Lifts heavy soiling — including lacquer and coating residue
  • Solvent-free & low-odor — based on inorganic bases with biodegradable surfactants
  • Dilutable — use undiluted or up to 1:5 with water to match the job

  • Removes color intensifications caused by impregnations and color-enhancing sealers
  • Strips heavy dirt and residues such as lacquer buildup
  • Gel-like consistency clings to vertical surfaces — facades and wall coverings
  • Ideal for floor covers and horizontal surfaces
  • Can be used undiluted or diluted up to 1:5 with water to suit the task
  • Biodegradable surfactants that comply with legal regulations

Suitable for:

  • Natural stone (acid-sensitive types included, subject to the notes below)
  • Concrete ashlar
  • Ceramics, bricks and clinker
  • Floor covers, facades and wall coverings

Not suitable for: being strongly alkaline, it corrodes polished marble, limestone, resin-bound artificial stone and terrazzo, as well as eloxal (anodized aluminum) and enamel. Do not use on alkali-sensitive artificial stone or painted surfaces. If in doubt, test on an inconspicuous area first.

  1. Apply undiluted or diluted (up to 1:5 with water) with a firm brush, sponge or mop to the absolutely dry stone. Optimum object temperature is 59–77°F (15–25°C).
  2. Let it work for at least 30 minutes — if necessary up to 24 hours — using a brush or scrubber to support the cleaning process.
  3. Avoid drying of the surface; keep it moist with a fine jet of water or additional product.
  4. Rinse thoroughly with water until all excess product is removed.
  5. In case of strong color intensification, repeat the procedure on the dry stone.

Note: color intensifications on absorbent surfaces, or those caused by humidity, cannot always be completely removed. Prepare a sample area first to gauge results and consumption.

  • Strongly alkaline (pH 14) — corrodes polished marble, limestone, resin-bound artificial stone, terrazzo, eloxal and enamel.
  • Do not use on alkali-sensitive artificial stone or painted surfaces.
  • Natural-hair brush bristles soften on contact with the product; use only to a limited extent.
  • Do not allow contact with plants; rinse immediately with water. Do not empty concentrated or diluted solutions into planted areas.
  • Industrial chemical product — use only in well-ventilated areas and wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection. Always consult the AKEMI Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.

Industrial chemical product — strongly alkaline. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection.
