Akemi Transformer Stone Color Enhancer & Impregnator

AKEMI® Transformer is a ready-to-use, solvent-based impregnation built on reactive modified siloxanes. Drawn into the stone by capillary action, it reacts to form a polysiloxane that both intensifies the natural colour and structure of the stone and leaves a water- and dirt-resistant impregnation behind. It deepens and enriches flamed, brushed, satin, fine-ground, and polished surfaces — and is especially effective on dark and black stones such as Nero Assoluto, Impala Black, Galaxy, and Zimbabwe Black. Because it does not form a film on the surface, the stone keeps its polish and stays breathable.

For flamed, brushed, satin, fine-ground, and polished natural and artificial stone, including:

  • Marble, slate, Solnhofen limestone, sandstone

  • Especially suited to dark and black stones (Nero Assoluto, Impala Black, Galaxy, Zimbabwe Black)
  • Blends in damaged areas such as hairline cracks for a homogeneous appearance

Colour enhancement is very durable on silicate-based stone and durable on lime-based stone. Not suitable for glazed or non-absorbent surfaces.

Disregarding the processing guidelines can lead to irreparable damage — always test on a sample area first.

  1. Clean the surface — it must be clean, completely dry, and free from all layers. Use the appropriate AKEMI® cleaner, rinse with water, and let the stone dry completely (1–2 days). Optimal object temperature is 59–77°F (15–25°C); protect from rain for approx. 24 hours and keep the surface out of direct sun and underfloor heat.
  2. Apply undiluted with a brush, mop, or spraying device in a thin, smooth layer, giving the product time to absorb into the stone.
  3. Approx. 5–10 minutes after application, remove all excess with a soft, absorbent cloth. On low-absorbent stone the product may be left to react up to 60 minutes for deeper enhancement.
  4. On very absorbent surfaces, several applications at 1–2 hour intervals may be needed.
  5. Re-polish polished surfaces until any haze is completely removed. Clean tools with AKEMI® Nitro-Dilution.
  • Seal the reverse and lateral faces of the stone (e.g. with AKEMI® Anti-Stain Coating 2015) so that rising moisture cannot penetrate.
  • Treat smaller areas (under about 5 ft² / 0.5 m²) at a time because the solvent evaporates quickly.
  • On some stones (e.g. Nero Assoluto, Nero Impala) natural structures may be enhanced more strongly than the surrounding surface — this is a stone characteristic, not a product defect.
  • When spraying, avoid aerosol formation, do not breathe vapours, and wear a protective mask. Protect nearby solvent-sensitive materials (synthetics, rubber, lacquered parts).
  • Inaccurately applied product can often be removed with AKEMI® Impregnation Remover; empty the container completely for disposal.
  • Industrial chemical product — use only in well-ventilated areas and wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection. Always consult the AKEMI Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
