Alpha® Eclipse Q High-Performance Dry Flush-Cutting Blade

The Alpha® Eclipse Q is a high-performance turbo blade engineered for flush cutting and 90-degree inside-corner work on tile, brick, block, concrete, slate and natural stone — including granite. An 8mm tall diamond layer delivers long blade life and consistent, chip-free cutting on common building materials. The Eclipse Q is paired with the Alpha® Quad Drive or Flange Adapter system so it can run safely on most high-speed angle grinders found in stone and construction shops.

  1. Confirm the blade arbor (20mm Quad Drive, 7/8" Quad Drive, or 20mm 8-hole flange) matches the Alpha adapter on your grinder.
  2. Mount the blade with the proper Quad Drive (BAH/AAH) or Flange Adapter — never run the Eclipse Q without an adapter.
  3. Check the grinder's max RPM is at or below the blade's rated speed (12,200 RPM for 5", 10,100 RPM for 6", 8,400 RPM for 7", 7,400 RPM for 8").
  4. Make light passes for flush cuts and 90° inside corners; let the blade do the work to avoid chipping.
  5. For best dust control and longer life, cut wet whenever the substrate and grinder allow it.
  6. Do not use the Eclipse Q for groove cutting — use the Alpha® Groove Cutter for that application.

What materials can the Eclipse Q cut?

Tile, brick, block, concrete, slate and natural stone including granite. It is best suited to medium-to-soft granite, but will also cut harder varieties.

Can I run the Eclipse Q wet?

Yes. Wet cutting generally extends blade life and keeps harmful silica dust out of the air.

Why must I use a Quad Drive or Flange Adapter?

The Eclipse Q is engineered to run on the Alpha Quad Drive / Flange Adapter system. It must always be paired with the proper adapter — never mount it directly to a grinder spindle.

What is the diamond layer height?

8mm, which gives the blade extended service life compared to standard turbo blades.

Can I use the Eclipse Q for groove cutting?

No. Use the Alpha® Groove Cutter for grooves. The Eclipse Q is built for flush cuts and 90° inside corners.

Can I mount it on a polisher?

No. Polisher RPM is too low; use a high-speed angle grinder rated at or above the blade's max RPM.
