What makes the Chesapeake lighter?
Dunlop redesigned the PVC shaft and sole so the finished boot is 25% lighter than a classic PVC boot, without giving up the steel toe.
What is a BAY-LOC outsole?
It is Dunlop's energy-absorbing outsole cut with channels that push water away from underfoot, which is what gives the boot its footing on wet and muddy ground.
Is it electrical-hazard rated?
No. The Chesapeake is rated ASTM F2413-11 M I/75 C/75 with slip resistance, but it carries no EH or SD electrical classification. If you need an electrical rating, choose the Dunlop DuraPro (EH) or the Dunlop Goliath (SD).
What impact and compression rating does it carry?
M I/75 C/75 — the 75 ft-lb impact and 2,500 lb compression class of ASTM F2413-11, rated for men's sizing.
Is the boot waterproof?
Yes. It is molded as a single piece of PVC with no seams or stitching to leak.
What work is it built for?
Dunlop lists agriculture as the Chesapeake's primary segment; it is a general-purpose wet-floor and muddy-ground boot.
