It is a dust-collection shroud that fits over a 5" cup wheel or grinding wheel on a side-grinder. Combined with a HEPA vacuum, it captures the silica dust generated when grinding stone — a key part of OSHA Table 1 silica compliance for dry grinding.

What grinders does the universal adapter fit?

The included universal adapter fits the M14 and 5/8"-11 spindles found on most 4-1/2" and 5" angle grinders (Makita, DeWalt, Bosch, Metabo, Milwaukee). Check the adapter ring set against your grinder's spindle thread before first use.

Which vacuum hose size does it accept?

The vacuum port accepts standard 1-1/4" / 32 mm dust-extraction hoses. Use a HEPA-rated vacuum to remain Table 1 compliant for dry grinding.

Can it be used wet?

The Ecoguard is designed for dry grinding with vacuum extraction. Using it wet defeats the purpose of dust capture and can damage the vacuum. For wet grinding use an open guard.

Empty the vacuum frequently, blow out the cover bristles after each shift, and inspect the skirt seal for wear. A worn skirt lets dust escape and drops capture efficiency below the Table 1 threshold.

Does it work with diamond cup wheels and resin polishing wheels?

Yes — any 5" cup wheel, segmented or turbo, that fits a standard angle-grinder spindle. It is not designed for blades or core bits.
